In an effort to support our staff's Culture of Thinking transition from "informational to transformational", a rotating Visible Thinking Routine (VTR) planning session has been implemented. Each teacher works with another colleague (co-department teacher or CoT team member) to design a lesson/unit that embeds thinking routines into the instructional methods. The Understanding Map, as well as the Planning Frame, will be utilized. In addition, another planning document was created for use. This collegial collaboration will rotate through three sessions: planning, implementation, and debriefing. The debriefing session may include a mini-LAST Protocol as a way to further develop the components of visible thinking into the classroom.
